A few minutes ago I told my husband that I would try really hard to still be alive when he gets home from work tomorrow. Personally, I thought it was a good plan, a High Achievers plan, considering that my chest and throat feel like I’ve spent the day drinking Lava.
He rolled his eyes at me, which means : It is totally acceptable for me to breathe on him while he sleeps. Totally. Acceptable.
In other less Imminent Death related news, I went shopping today. Besides Christmas gifts, I bought this:

A teeny tiny sweater for Sammi. She shivers when she has to go outside, and I don’t blame her!

On the sixth of November marks the 11th anniversary of the official “start” Of our relationship. On Halloween marked the 11th anniversary of me losing my virginity. TMI?

The kids got way too much candy. Normally, I think the more candy the better, But for some reason my husband has decided the kids are all old enough to eat their own candy - thus, My husband is an asshole and the kids will be grounded each time I see them eating chocolate. I hope that, very quickly, the boys learn to share with me. A Happy Mother = a Happy Home.

My BFF came in from the city and did the boy’s faces for me. The boy’s and I loved it, and the boy’s got a lot of complements on their costumes.

We only had 31 children come to our door to trick or treat. We decided to hand out jars of Play Doh this year, instead of candy. Of those 31, only one of them turned up their nose - kid was probably 12 or so - and decided it was his place to lecture me on the fact that Halloween is NOT a time for Play Doh, But a time for CANDY. I apologized, reached in his bag, removed the Play Doh he had taken anyway and shut the door in his face.
I love Halloween! I love the candy, I love the costumes - Not that I wear costumes, but I love to see the different costumes as the kids come to the door!
Here are this years Jack-o-lanterns :

Blakes’s

Parker’s

Logan’s
Tomorrow (tonight, oct 31) I will post the boys in their costumes.

Nine years ago today, At one oh five in the morning, this boy was born and I became a mom.
He cried a lot in those first few weeks. I cried a lot too. I used to beg him to please just grow. I had read somewhere, that a baby’s crying will peak at six weeks of age, and I grabbed that sentence like a life line. I spent my time counting down the days till he grew. Praying and wishing and begging for him to age just a little faster.
First he was two weeks old. Now three, then four, five, and finally that magic day came and he was six weeks old. He didn’t cry as much anymore. Neither did I.
But he didn’t stop growing.
Nine years ago today he was an infant. Nine years from today he will be a man.
It took until now, 11 PM, for us to finally finish the cupcakes, but they are done and we don’t have to worry about cake decorating for - oh, that’s right, In our family we have a birthday every freaking three months!
I fully intended to have the cupcakes baked and cooling before taking Logan to Pre-K in the afternoon, but I was felled by one of the worst headaches I have ever had.
It might have been the pain pills, or it might be that I just suck, but the first batch of brownies, 30 of them, were totally burned. As in to a crisp. Char. I had to go back to the store and buy another cake mix and start over. I finished baking the cupcakes six minutes before Blake’s Parent teacher Interview was to start. Interestingly enough, Hubs, Blake’s teacher, and I spent more time talking about sleeping in the nude than about Blake - who is apparently doing amazing in Grade One.
Before I show you the cupcakes, I shall add the disclaimer that While I made the cupcakes, the decorating was ALL hubs. He’s simply amazing, I just love watching him squirt that sticky stuff out of his tube! (the fact that when he is done squeezing his tube he lets me suck the tip clean doesn’t hurt either!)
First up : The Mummy

The Monster

And The Vampire(Hubs let me do the eyes and mouths on the vampires. I kind of sucked at it)

In total, Hubs decorated 30 for Parker’s class, (it’s his birthday) and 20 for Logan’s Pre-K class, Just because..Or cus, Uhm, I might have volenteered on his behalf to bring some cup cakes in and then waited til the last minute when he asked why we needed so much icing, to tell him he had 20 more to decorate…
