Right now I should be child proofing my house. Tomorrow before the coffee has finished brewing my four and one year old neices will arrive at my house. Their previous babysitter saw no need to change the baby’s diaper, or, you know, give them food and stuff.
Seriously.
So it’s a bit of a drive for them to get here, but my brother and his chick* will save a bit of money and know that their girls will be happy and cared for. Bonus for me, I get to play with my nieces (Nail polish! Pig tails! Frilly dresses!!) AND I will get a bit of extra cash to pay bills with.
Win/Win.
It’s going to be quite an adjustment. I will be following the baby around tomorrow to see what catches her eye and remove it from harms way before she grabs it, and there is the part where the baby doesn’t like animals and I have three of them. Having to get up in the morning and STAY up will be a big adjustment too. But it will all get figured out in the end.

In other news, today is Micah’s Birthday (January 13) he turned OLD. Tell him happy birthday.
*I never know what to call her. They have been together for a long long time, and have two kids together but aren’t married. If I call her my brother’s partner, it sounds like a same sex relationship, and if I call her his wife or my sister in law, its a lie. So I call her Chick.

But WTF is it with babysitters? I know this one who shouldn’t be babysitting either… geez. Very glad we chose broke and me home all those years instead of babysitters. I’m sure you’ll make them memories forever.. of cool aunty’s house while mom and dad were at work!
