Neither Sock Dreams nor eBay know I exist, so the idea that anyone paid me to write this post is downright laughable. Suck on that, FTC
Right now, I am equal parts sad and confused.
Some people do not love socks. In fact. There are some people who not only do not love socks, they don’t even LIKE them.
Seriously.
I’m gonna try my best to explain why I love socks, in hopes of helping others into the light.
****
I have lots of socks.Lots. And the only ones I do not wear, are the plain black or plain white. Why do people insist on giving me this type of sock? If they know me at all, and if you are buying me socks, you better know me, you know that I need happy socks.
Socks play a HUGE part in how I feel, emotionally, through the day.
When I wear a pair of socks, and something bad happens, I NEVER, EVER wear that pair again. I can’t throw them out, becuase I still love them, but it hurts when I see them.
The neon orange pair with lions on them? I was wearing them the night Micah drove me to the hospital to remove the staple I shot through my finger. They are sitting in a drawer, away from the good socks, still bloodstained.(but washed) They will never grace my feet again.
When my dad had his heart attack, I got dressed as quick as possible to race to the hospital, and I did not have socks on. It made me anxious, it made me fear the worst, and it gave me blisters. Micah brought socks to the hospital for me. And my dad lived through four heart attacks.
Those socks are in my drawer with the rest of my good socks, but I will wear them rarely. Something good and wonderful happened while I wore them, and they became lucky socks. When My BFF’s mom goes in for surgery, those are the socks I will wear to the hospital while I sit with her.
When My sister had surgery to remove her kidney, I wore two pairs of socks. Not becuase my feet were cold, but because I needed the extra boost.
I put my socks on first thing in the morning. And then, I tend to forget about them. That’s when the magic happens, people, becuase later on, I will get up and walk to get coffee and see that flash of color, look down, and be happy.
I see the hopping frogs, the pom poms, the Jelly Beans jumping and I smile.
I tend to wear fuzzy socks when I watch scary movies so that I can rub my hands over them for comfort. I wear bright splashy socks when I am happy, and darker, edgier socks when I am mad.
Socks are like my security blanket.
Recently, these thigh high stripe socks were delivered to my door. I bought them on eBay. The children will either give them to me for Christmas, Or they will be my stocking stuffers. It doesn’t matter, just knowing they are there, tucked away in Micah’s closet, excites me. I touch them every time I go in our room. I haven’t even tried them on and I already know they are good socks. Happy socks.

Just the other day Gwen sent me a link to a site called Sock Dreams. I spend hours there. I hope they do not keep a close eye on their site counter, becuase I spend enough time there to worry any sane person. I will be spending a lot of money on that site, this I know for a fact.
(First, though, I am buying these shoes from eBay, becuase they are gonna go so awesome with my stripey socks)
I simply cannot wrap my mind around someone not liking socks. I can sort of understand not wanting to wear socks in the summer, because they are hard to wear with flip flops, but, people… TOE SOCKS exist for a reason.
And look! FUZZY toe socks!! I have a very soft spot for toe socks. When I wear them, it feels like each individual toe is getting a hug, All.Day.Long.
And these. Look at these and tell me they don’t excite you :
And what about these. They aren’t socks, they are something better : Sock accessories. Arm warmers to be exact.

How long has this been a reality? How long could I have been wearing socks with MATCHING arm warmers? How have I lived this long, without?
***
In closing, I would like to point out that I am wearing my fuzzy blue, mid calf, with pom-pom tie, socks, and that they are made of win, and by association, so am I.
You want to be made of win, don’t you?
Switch to Team Socks. Don’t do it for me, Do it for your health. It’s a proven fact* that socks make you happy

Have you tired Nap socks? They are fuzzy and super soft. I only wear them in the winter, but I PPH them. They only come in a few colors and no patterns so they may not be up to your standards. You can find them at Brookstone.com.

One time I briefly had in my possession some jelly bean socks, but only because I knew about your love of socks and thought you would enjoy them.

They’re also important bits of culture. After all, without socks, Tom Cruise could never have slid across that floor singing in his underwear….

@Finn – I am, aren’t I, I haven’t tried that particular brand before, but they look very nice. I am fond of all things fuzzy, and that includes socks and peaches. Ive got some that look to be the same type of material. Then again, you can never have too many socks, can you?
@Kat – I’m not impressed at all with the new laws, bloggers should already have been disclosing when they are paid to review a product, it should be a non issue! As for the socks, the ability to reach your feet is an important one when it comes to socks.
@Robin – I wish I had been gutsy enough to wear cute socks under my wedding dress
(
@trishk – yeah, i can understand that socks get hot and those of you lucky enough to live in warm climates might not like hot feet, but still… toeless socks can be an option?
@Dana – Pfft. a medical out. if you were a normal person, you would love socks.
@metalmom – Peopel have learned that I am happiest when I get my way. I also buy myself socks for Christmas to ensure I not only get them, but that i get nice ones. Actually, last year on my Birthday Micah and the boys brought home like 12 pairs of socks, and every one of them was adorable!
@Nobody – I wear my jelly belly socks, but not often. they are white and I hate seeing white socks go dark, and I cannot keep white things white, so I wear them on special occasions, or I wear them with a darker ankle sock to protect the sole of them.
Micah only wears white socks – apparently he hates colored toe fuzz, because he is weird and junk. We had to argue with him when it came to dressing for our wedding, that just once, and just for the day, he HAD to wear black socks.
He’s abnormally weird.
@MissMeliss – EXACTLY! I should print this out and get it tattoo’d! Socks are of cultural importance, SO THERE, Haters!
@Sheila – You gained the other 50% back for all the socks you have sent me LOL. I am very easy to bribe!

@Crystal – I will definitely check them out! Thanks! I have a sock monkey tucked away in my ceder chest. my great grandfather made it.
@Bsti – LOL, thanks to twitter, the internet is just a wee bit smaller, eh? One day I will win the lottery and be forced to buy a house just to store my socks in!

Oh – and I have a pair of gloves like the FUZZY socks in your picture. They were a life-saver when the heater in my car didn’t work–I’d love to have socks like those.
