Gift for Dad: does he like sweets? Harry & David or Godiva gift basket. Does he like to read? Magazine subscription (smithsonian is good–my dad also likes that one called HandyMan or something like that–shows how to repair/make stuff/hide out in the basement workshop for hours on end.

Just off the top o’ my head–and the bottom of my warmly socked feet.

I’ sorry to say I’m one of the sock haters. I just hate the feel… Although I loved making sock balls out of mismatched socks and having a sock ball fight with my brothers and sisters!
