• Today I took my niece to get her ears pierced – I had her parents permission. In fact, after talking to her mom, we decided to  meet at the mall and go together to get them done. K-Ster picked Pink earrings and sat still.as.a.statue the whole time they were getting ready and lining up the guns.
• A quick ow..OW..OWIE!!! and a tiny, minuscule amount of crying later and she is now the proud owner of Holy Ears.
• Seriously. She cried so little that people in the store with us didn’t even turn to look. She did SO good. My little Super Star.
• When it was done, her mom asked her “Do you want to say thank you to the nice ladies who gave you your new earrings?” K-Ster looked at her mother like she was high on crack and said very forcefully “NO!” Too fucking funny.

The Thursday before we left on vacation..uh..the 23rd of july, My step Mother (Not the evil variety) took me and J (My brothers girl friend) to L.A Nails <–remember that name, to get our nails done. Now, I have Very Little Experience in all things girly, so I had no idea that anything weird was going on until after. My step mother gets gel nails all the time.. well I guess she gets them filled all the time, but anyway, she knows whats going on.

First off, they did absolutely nothing to prepare my nails, cleaning, no filing, no pushing back of the cuticles, nothing. But whatever, right? They are the nail tech people, they know what they are doing, right?

Wrong.

My nails looked awesomely wonderful the first week, but by week two, the sides and bottoms had started lifting. I am a nail biter (Yes. I do know its gross and nails are germy and disgusting)(But whatever, I can’t stop) Anyway. I like to bite and pick at my nails so I refused to even look at my nails past week two. Everytime I saw them I wanted to pry at those lifting edges BUT I DIDN’T.  I was ROCKING that will power thingy.

I made plans to go get my nails filled, and a friend of mine assured me that the lity edges would be filed down and all would be good.

Tonight after dropping K-Ster and her mom at their house, I went back to L.A. Nails to get them filled.

But.  Apparently my nails had “grown too much for a fill” (remember how they didn’t push back the cuticles before gelling them? Yeah, I pushed them back in the first week, so by the time I went back 4 weeks later, half of my nail was gel, and half was regular nail). The guy told me I would have to pay for a full set of gel nails again.

Whatever, I wanted the nails, so I agreed to pay full price.

Except, the shitty, lifting and cracking nails that THEY PUT ON ME had to come off first. And they wanted to charge me another 30.00 to remove them.

HELL.NO.

I very politely (<– this is a lie. I was swearing and swears are not polite) told them what I thought of THAT and walked the fuck out.

Tonight I spent two hours soaking my nails in remover and filing and soaking and filing some more until I got the blasted things off, and on Friday I am going to go to a completly different salon to get my nails done.

Remember : L.A. Nails = SUCK SUCK and MORE SUCK
