Be Honest

I’m not much of a girl, I don’t quite understand make up, so I don’t wear it. I don’t have shoes to match this outfit or purses that go with that outfit. And fashion..well. I’m pretty much a lost cause at that!

SO. I bought this dress cus the interwebs said I should, and it came in the mail today. Apparently I have boobs. I’m pretty sure there is a very fine line a woman can balance on, between dressing like a slut and dressing like a woman, and I am not sure what side of the line this dress falls on.

I asked Micah already if he thought the dress shows too much boobage, but seeing as he prefers me naked to clothed, I’m not sure I can trust his opinion. This is where you come in.

I should have waited for Micah to take pictures of me in it, then you would have been able to see the whole thing. If it helps, it is floor length.

Too much boobs? And should I attempt to find a strapless bra to go with it?

Be honest.

  1. I think you look fab! Since it’s so long, there’s no reason you shouldn’t show off the boobage. ;)

If it were short, then that would be another story. LOL

  4. It’s perfect! You’re just used to tee shirts. Great dress. A strapless bra will keep the girls high and tight and can only improve the look, but it doesn’t look bad at all without it as far as I can tell.

  5. i don’t think it shows to much boobage. a strapless bra might be good for helping you feel more ’secure’ and whatnot. but it that’s not an issue, then i see no problem with the dress as is. i like the colours :)

  10. This is exactly the kind of thing I would be afraid to wear for fear of how much is too much boob. But, it looks fantastic and if you feel good in it, I say wear it. Then, teach me how to feel okay with my cleavage. I swear work has turned me into a paranoid freak about my boobs.

  13. It’s definitely not too much cleavage, you look good. If you’d feel more comfortable with a bra, you should go for it, but you look perky enough without

  14. I would not go the strapless bra route. They give funny indents in the boobs and are not attractive. I didn’t wear a bra for a certain someone’s wedding a few weeks ago, and that was very churchy. The think the dress awesome as is.

  15. I think it looks wonderful! Not too much of anything.

I understand though your doubting because I just started dressing “girly” last year, at the prompting of my 12 year old and I felt really self conscious the first few times.

My question is this: how many days out of the year will you be able to wear it? Here in the scorching desert, I could wear it all but in December/January and then I’d probably only need a sweater.

  16. Oh, and on the strapless bra front, I bought this one that looks like an old boob tube (remember those elastic shirts that just slipped on like, well, a big tube) anyway, I found one and it doesn’t leave the weird crease in the tops of your boobs, and it doesn’t leave the strap in the back either. I LOVE it.

And I think you only should wear a bra under it if that makes you feel more comfortable wearing it. If you feel you should yourself. Looks fine without to me.

  25. I think it looks great! Same as everyone else! I don’t like strapless bras, they always tend to slip, especially if I am dancing. Besides, I didn’t spend all that money on the new girls if I wanted to keep them “caged”. If I am in A/C and braless, I do put the little round bandaids over certain “points”! LOL

  26. It’s adorable. You look HOT, but not TOO hot!!
If it’s floor length, you want more boobage, but I think it’s perfect. Even though I’m around alternative lifestyles, I’m actually a bit of a prude-priss-snob. Yeah, I know, I’m weird, but I also say what I think & I think you know that. So that means if I think it’s perfect, then it’s perfect.
The only thing I would say is as for the color, it’s not for a completely formal event, but fine for day or night almost anywhere else.

& being someone who notices every detail… in the photo, uh…what’s going on in your mouth???

  28. It looks REALLY good!!!! I agree with not getting a strapless bra–I think it would mess up the great fit of the dress. If you’re worried about nipple show-thru, you could always get some of those cups that go on with adhesive–no straps. Or use band-aids like that other resourceful person! Me, I’d rather have glue on the underside of mah girls than on the more sensitive skin.

    1) if you go strapless, make sure it doesn’t show in the front.

    2) depending on where you are wearing it – make sure you’ll be comfortable for the event, if you are going to be tugging it up all night – don’t bother, because you won’t have any fun!
