So…(Long Post, Get Coffee. Bring Me Some While You Are Up)

First I want to thank everyone who commented on my last post. My sister has decided to begin Hemo Dialysis. her start date was to be Monday, but the doctors have postponed putting the line into her chest, so that date may also be postponed.

*relieved sigh*

This weekend was longish. And weird.

It began on Thursday night when Logan, My absolutely NOT evil Step Mother, and I went to Build a Bear. It began Thursday because the children had no school Friday and any day the children are home with me is a weekend in my eyes.

Logan had a hell of a time at BAB. He went immediately for the most expensive stuffed animal they had and it took a while to talk him into the 15 dollar puppy while still making it seem like the dog was *his* choice. After he chose his dog, the attendant helped him stuff it and fluff it and then sent us tot he dressing room to try on Puppy Sized clothes. At first, Logan just started grabbing everything for his dog. Little boxers, tiny tee shirts and shorts, sandals, a skate board and sun glasses, but we explained that his puppy only needed one outfit and he settled on the BatMan set. He was actually pretty set on the police uniform until I took it down for him to see and he realized it did not come with a gun. LOLz.

Logan was bound and determined his new best friend NEEDED the tiny dog bed to sleep in, but I was just as determined that I was not paying 21.00 for it. We compromised by buying little black plastic boots for Fluffy. (that would be his dog’s name). In all, he got the dog, one outfit, socks and an optional beating heart. The total came to 53.60. FOR A STUFFED ANIMAL.

HOWever. I am finding it easy to ignore the cost because Logan and Fluffy have been inseparable since Thursday. Also I might have gone on eBay and spent an additional 21.47 on a pilots outfit and a flannel pajamas with fuzzy dog slippers set. (fluffy has been sleeping in a pair of Logans underwear due to his shocking lack of night wear)

On Saturday we had two football games with Parker’s team. They lost the first game, spectacularaly, but Blake found an empty birds egg so that was gross nice. During the second game, (both were played in different towns/cities, neither of which was the one we reside in) I had to take Blake to the mall, missing half of the game, because he had to go to the washroom. While I was gone, a mini..thing. Tornado? Whirlwind? Who knows, but,  this thing tore through the play ground and the field, picking up play books, chairs and even a foot ball and carried it to the extreme opposite end of the park before dropping it. Also, Had I thought to bring my camera, I would have gotten a few kick ass pictures of planes because the field is, I guess, close to the airport and the planes were flying super.freaking.low. I did not remember my camera. Because I am stupid. And forgetful.

Sunday was all about fooling around, doing nothing. It rained, but it was a beautiful warm rain, it was lovely.

And that about brings you up to speed, doesn’t it?

Oh wait. no. One more thing.

  1. Jabbering Whiner.

    Not you. JW.

You can spend 100 on a stuffed animal, but you can’t finish your passport paperwork?

    Hm.

  4. I love the way you talk your kids into compromising on stuff instead of #1 being all hard-ass about it OR #2 giving in completely because you don’t know how to control a situation (that would be MY chosen method, but since I’m the great-grandma who never had kids of her own, I get away with it a lot ;0).

You are such a great mom.

Still praying for your sister’s situation to have a happy resolution. Hang in there.

  5. Ok so I’m trademarking the “spank bank” term even though I know I got it from somewhere else but since I don’t remember where I figure that means I get to call it mine.
