I remember that my parents used to complain about how much time I spent talking, and how they tried so many ways to get me to shut the hell up. But mostly, I remember that time at the curling rink, when my dad told me he would give me five dollars to be quiet for just five minutes, please. At a time when bags of chips were still under a dollar and penny candies still existed, five bucks was a freaking fortune.
I also remember that I was unable to stay quiet for the five minutes. In fact, if I remember correctly, I did not last the first minute, which is why I find it amusing that today, I have absolutely nothing to say. Unfortunately, this time, no one is paying me to be quiet.
