What a stupid day!

We got up late which meant I had SEVEN minutes to get the kids fed dressed and out the door – Blake had a field trip and had to be at school early to catch the bus. My freak out about getting Blake to the bus on time, with all that he needed for his day out, meant I forgot allll about his older brothers’ field trip, and while Parker was on time and got to go on the trip, he had no towel or swimsuit.

I see an argument, in his favor, for favoritism down the road.

But then? I found five perfectly rounded apples on my apple tree. They are only the size of marbles right now, and I doubt the tree is strong enough to support them to maturity, but man, did that ever make my day!

Isn’t that the most precious thing ever!!? OK, so it’s not the best picture, I had to go outside – in the dark- AND spiders LOVE dark – so it’s VERY scary – and shine a flashlight on the apples and try to take the picture with one hand.

I’m OK. I only saw one spider, and the dog ate it for me. I knew keeping her kibble locked up so the cat would not eat it would pay off someday. I just always assumed that the payoff would be Fat Bastard losing weight…

  6. @Bucky – Its not as great as it sounds. the dog also wants to eat the flies. The dog cannot fly. She doesn’t know that though and in thinks barking might start her engine. JUMP!BARK! JUMP!BARK! over and over. And the fly? He just perches upside down on the roof and laughs

    @Robin – Really? But. Cats like to hunt…

    @Finn – LOL.

  7. That is an awesome photo, I can’t believe you did that with a flashlight, it looks really cool. I just notice our tree has the same looking baby apples on it. Until the neighborhood kids discover them and splatter them all over the street. Happens every year.

  8. @annie – AND A SPIDER!! Don’t forget the spider. I risked life and limb for that photo! Also? If a neighbor hood kid killed my itty bitty baby apples, I would kill them.
