*love*

Some of you have already seen this photo on Facebook, twitter or on one of my other blogs, but I am SO pleased with this, that I HAD to share it here as well!

You see, I stop by the pet clothing section every time I am in the store and there is NEVER anything in Smokeys size (she wears size Pony), but today, not only did I pick up this adorable gingham dress (nine bucks!) but a sweet fleece lined denim winter parka for her!

I think Smokey KNOWS she is pretty, she has been prancing around all day, and has taken to doing a full body shake whenever the tulle (under the skirt, you cannot see it in the picture) gets flat, to poof it back up!

Hubs was SO sure she would refuse to wear it, and would ruin it in minutes, but I knew better. All little girls need at least one pretty dress!

Also, on Friday I had my first pedicure, and i have to say, I’m just not sold on the idea of spending 47.95 like that again. The atmosphere of the place was amazing, The colors, the decor, it was all perfect. The chair was comfortable and the water JUST right. The pedicurist was chatty, but not too chatty if you know what I mean. She was very thorough, and I came out of there with great looking toes – but overall? I doubt I will do it again.

I will admit that the 25 minutes she spent massaging my feet – thats 25 per foot people- were probably theĀ  best fifty minutes I have ever spent in my life, and I would Definitely pay 47.95 just for that, but the whole toe painting and foot scrubbing? meh, I can do that at home. But, at least now I can say I tried it!

  1. what’s the exchange rate from US dollars to Canadian, again, cuz… nearly $50 for a pedi sounds craaaaaazy.

  3. Yeah, even mine wasn’t that much, and I have the feet of a homeless man crossed with a bear.

  4. wow, well, I guess my feet don’t get massaged for 25 minutes a piece. But, I don’t pay over $30 for one down here.

  5. Okay – 2 things.

    1. HOLY FUCK. Seriously. I love my pedicures like a fat kid loves chocolate. The cutting, the filing, the scrubbing, the cleaning, the massaging, THE MASSAGING, THE MASSAGING, THE MASSAGING, THE MASSAGING, the paraffin wax, the pretty polished toes (mine always come with pretty flowers or other art on my big toes).

    2. $50 for pedi? HOLY NOODLES!!!! Even with the exchange rate between US and Canada, WITH the massaging chair that sounds insane. For reference I pay $20 USD for my pedi’s. Is that equitable….(plz remember that I am totally math STEWPID, so I have no idea what my $20 buys me in Canada).

I, for one, am a gigantic advocate of pedi’s, but if it ain’t for you, then it ain’t for you. :D

  6. @Avitable – Hmmmm. Why do I get the feeling I was ripped off? Maybe they are all in the 50$ range in these parts? I admit I did not shop around…

@Sheila – OMG sheila, it was heaven. By the end, she literally made my feel feel like they were boneless. it was almost orgasm worthy. Almost

  7. Lucy! We must have been commenting at the same time. I check the exchange rate out as per sheilas request earlier and there is less than two dollars difference between usd and cad. If I could get a pedi at 20, I might do it again, maybe even regularly – for the massaging!

  10. I’m with you on the whole pedi thing.
It’s fun to be pampered, but the cost seems to take most of the fun out of it.
And $50 sounds like an awful lot…. I think the last time I checked for a price around here, it was closer to $20 or $30.
I went to cosmetology school, where we learned how to give manicures and pedicures and facials and lots of other crap. It’s more fun when it’s free, being done by a fellow student. :)

  11. I’ve never been one to want someone else dealing with my feet. Actually, I’m not really the ’spa’ kind of gal. Mr. Fracas totally has no idea how lucky he is to have a wife that doesn’t even want that stuff. Did I ever mention how I really don’t get much of a thrill from going out to a fancy dinner… and that I don’t believe in the whole Valentine’s Day thing either?

    Someone should tell him.

    But hey.. nice tootsies.

  12. I got a pedi today. I have purple toes now. The mani and pedi together cost me $30 including the tip. Bonus was that I got to watch 27 Dresses while my feet soaked. Your toes look great, but I think the price was mite high. Probably paying for all that cool atmosphere. My nail place is kinda utilitarian except for the HUGE plasma TVs and cool movies they play.

  14. No way would I any money to get a pedicure when I can do it myself. But that’s just me, I’m way cheap that way. I’m also pretty sure that if I tried to put clothes on my cats, they’d scratch my eyes out.

  18. Sah-WEET dress on Smokey! Look at her; she says, “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful . . .”

Whoa! $50=too much! call around just for gee whiz. Gorgeous toes BTW, they did do a great job. Out here in SoCal you can get your entire body Thai-massaged for $45/hour. What IS a Thai massage anyways, does anybody know?

I’m with you & Sheila, tho–orgasmic foot massage: priceless.

  19. Around here, pedis start at $18. Then, there are the optional services:
Add $5 for flowers or other design on big toes. Add $5 for callous treatment. Add $5 for dry skin treatment. French tips are more; not sure how much since I haven’t done that. Of course, virtually all of our shops are run by Vietnamese immigrants who hardly speak English and chat amongst themselves or on their cell phones the whole time. (I’m just positive they’re making comments about the person they are working on, but have no way of knowing for sure.)

  20. All the nail techs are Korean here. Remember that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine got all paranoid they were talking about her? It’s TRUE!!!!!

My kingdom for an english-as-a-FIRST-language nail tech! Except the price would probably double . . .
